About Jason Cullimore

Picture
Since writing his first compositions as a teenager on his now-ancient Commodore 64, Jason has been building his composing skills and creativity with the aim of writing for major motion pictures, video games and television series.

Along the way, he has been recognized as a talented, versatile composer whose scores are colourful and expressive.  He has earned awards for his composing, scoring and songwriting, and has had a distinguished early career, with credits in film, television, theatre, and ballet, and concert performances by orchestras, choirs and jazz ensembles.

Jason has also taught a third-year course at the University of Regina in the psychology of music, based on his studies in a music psychology lab at Queen's University where he completed his Master's degree.  Jason has a unique perspective on composition, having cut his teeth as a composer while studying music theory from a cognitive perspective.  He applies his experience as a music psychologist to his composition, being one of the few composers who has studied the musical mind as well as a musical instrument.
